This week’s round-up of the best new Irish music is a mammoth affair with new albums from Irish music legends Damian Dempsey and Mary Coughlan, plus debut releases from young guns Yenkee and Olive Hatake. Irish rap pioneer Rejjie Snow is on a mission to bring ‘Peace To Da World’, Problem Patterns reimagine their debut album with a little help from their friends and punk poet Meryl Streek delivers ‘Songs For The Deceased’ and Tallaght rapper Curtisy expands his debut album ‘What Was The Question’. There’s also excellent new EPs from PostLast, Kynsy and She’s In Parties.

This week’s cover star Biig Piig previews her debut album ’11:11′ with ‘Favourite Girl’, while up-and-comer Annie-Dog previews her 15 EP with ‘Little Italy’.  Fresh from signing to Fadar, Efé showcases her lighter side with ‘You Say That I’m Crazy’, while distinctive Ni pop act Chubby Cat returns with ‘Got Hope’. Also freshly inked to a recording contract are Dublin’s Hotgirl – don’t google it – who have shared new single ‘In Your Head’.

Fresh from a successful appearance at Ireland Music Week, Cable Boy prove why they are one of the most fancied acts in the country right now with ‘Let’s Go!’, while Eurovision star Bambi Thug has a ‘Fangtasy’ just in time for Halloween. Pastiche, meanwhile continues a productive 2024 with ‘Abandon The Planet’.

As has become the norm, there’s an extensive array of collaborations, but it’s really nice to see Fiachna O Braonain, Tom Dunne & Alan Connor combine for ‘The Chokin’ Kind’, meanwhile Anna Mieke hook sup with Anna B Savage for ‘Agnes’ and the most popular man in Northern Ireland, Ciaran Lavery is back with another collaboration, this time roping in Canadian based Laura Lucas for ‘A Quiet Heart Is An Unused Heart’, while it’s great to see Strange Boy combine with Enda Gallery for  the first glimpse into his new album with ‘God Help Him (Seemingly He Didn’t)’

Fia Moon returns with possibly her best track to date ‘Never Wrote A Song For You’, James Vincent McMorrow get ‘Sunburn’ while Roe heads for the ‘Swimming Pool’ while singer songwriter continues his impressive return with the classic strains of ‘I’ll Get Back To You (When I’ve Nothing Better To Do)’.

And if that wasn’t enough to keep you going this Bank Holiday Weekend, there’s also new tracks from The Kyd G, Laytha, Coddy, Nessa McHugh, Emileo, Aoife Wolf  and Overhead, The Albatross, plus debut singles from Lee Brady and Seamus Harty and something from the U2 vault.
