This week’s round-up of the best new Irish music features debut albums from Ahmed, With Love, ex-Walking On Cars frontman PA Sheehy and experimental trad act Pinhole. Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets continue their prolific run with ‘The Story After They’re Gone’ while Galway’s finest Holly Macve delivers their third album ‘Wonderland’ featuring Suburban House a duet with Lana del Rey. And Tebi Rex’s Filmore! continues to mix hip hop and rock together on his new EP ‘Idle Death Gamble’.

This week’s big name collab comes from James Vincent McMorrow and The Blessed Madonna who connect for ‘Brand New’ while Lisa Hannigan lends her ethereal voice to Luke Sital-Singh’s latest single ‘Sante Fe’, while our coverstars The X Collective, Qbanaa and DeCarteret connect for ‘Naked’.

Biig Piig continues to tease her debut album with ‘Decimal’ which sees her returning to the bilingual delivery style that turned us all into big fans of the sesh, back in the day. NI rock outfit Chalk have previewed their ‘Conditions III’ EP with bouncy new single ‘Tell Me’, while Cork’s Cardinals continue their impressive rise with the retro indie leaning ‘Get It’. Gurriers have shared a radiofriendly version of Dipping Out ahead of their appearance on Later with Jools Holland next week.

Dublin trio, The Fae continue their return following medical issues with the grungy ‘Like Your Man’, while Skinner continues to meld the influence of Talking Heads and The B52s on frenetic new single ‘Geek Love’. Left Iris, meanwhile continue to mix synths and shoegaze with their latest single ‘Valentine’. Proper Micro NV aka Rory Hall has previewed his new album with the alt-dance jam ‘Just A Drop’ one for fans of Jape’s dancier output, While NI dance legends Bicep continue their Chroma series with its 7th instalment ‘Chroma 007 Steall’ featuring Hammer.

If you’re looking for something a little more sedate, Shiv has delivered a wintery slice of R’N’B with ‘Defiance’, while Maria Kelly strives for ‘Something Better’ on her latest midtempo heater, while Annika Kilkenny continues to impress with her classic, yet kooky approach to folk with ‘Out In The Garden’. The Oscelots, meanwhile, mix blood harmonies with a Frames-tinged sound on ‘About You.

And if that wasn’t enough for your ears to take in this week there’s new tunes from Ciaran Lavery, Trillz, Baba, Dylon Jack, Travy,  Tadgh Daly, the debut singles from Mucksavage and Thomas Lowry and much more besides.
