This week’s round-up of the best new Irish music sees the return of Cork’s finest Lenii with their brand new EP ‘Zero Sympathy’. Covers en vogue this wee as Thumper breath new life into Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’ whilst Fontaines D.C. pay tribute to the late great Nick Drake with their version of ‘Cello Song’.

Dermot Kennedy gears up for a big week ahead of The Choice Music Prize by hooking up with The Streets and Fred Again…for ‘Mike (Desert Island Duvet)’ while previous Choice Prize winners Lankum return with ‘The New York Trader’, and nominee Aoife Nessa Francis gives us a glimpse of her third chapter with the release of  ‘Automatic Love’.

It’s a big week for electro tunes with Belters Only, Mano Le Tough, George Feely, Bklava and Poser all doing their best to get you on the dance floor. Ladies rule the world in Irish pop this week with bops from Lea Heart, Kehli, Elkae and Mayo’s finest Lydia Ford.  Jordan Adetunji goes hyper-pop with his latest track You & I and great to see Spider return with their first release on 2023 ‘America’s Top Model’.

In rock, Choice Music Prize nominees Thumper make their return proper with ‘Circles’ – the second glimpse of their next chapter – while Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets continue to tease their debut album with the release of ‘Nowhere To Live’ while BBC6 Music darlings Scattered Ashes return with ‘Battles’.

And if that wasn’t enough to get your ears around there’s also new music from Odd Numbers, 7eddy, Clodagh, Daire Heffernan, Sourfruit, Wohn, Craig Walker, Áine Deane, Leah Moran, Arbutus, Constant Follower, Kazms, Moondiver, Garrett Laurie and Autre Monde for your consideration.
