On this week’s round-up of the best new Irish music, Villagers shares the deluxe version of their excellent ‘Fever Dreams’ album, Daithi and Ailbhe Reddy get us in the mood for summer with sad banger ‘Sunset’ and Biig Piig makes beautiful ‘Hi-Fidelity’ noise with Lava La Rue.
Irish dance sensations 49th and Main return with ‘Human Condition’ ahead of the release of their new EP ‘Must Be Nice’ which arrive in July. It’s great to have Eden back with ‘Modern Warfare’, his first release in 2 years, while Hannah Peel delivers the OST for ‘The Midwich Cuckoos’.
A quick name change sees Chubby Cat emerge from their chrysalis with ‘Have A Nice Day’, while NI’s Louise DaCosta continues to attack the dance-floor with ‘Bad Bit’. Yingyang impresses with ‘Happy Money’, meanwhile, Apollo Monroe hooks up with beatmaker Old Pup for ‘Sweet Tooth’, other collabs this week include ‘Burn’ from Ailsha & Aran Sheedy and ‘Wait’ from My Twisted Heart featuring Outsider YP and Kristine.
There’s debuts from Netherlands based songwriter KiKi, Dublin rockers Four Faces and singer/songwriter Matt Redmond. In rock, Galway’s Turnstiles return with their first release of the year ‘Dig It Out’, post-punk outfit I Am The Main Character deliver their second effort ‘Tea Dreamerz’, while O f All Living Things share ‘Mostly Timing’, their first release since their ‘On Familiar Ground’ EP.
