Welcome to this week’s round up of the best new Irish music. This week’s big release is obviously Fontaines D.C.’s third album ‘Skinty Fia’ which we’re sure everybody will be talking about over the weekend.

Other notable releases in the rock realm come from Limerick’s Sinead O’Brien who has shared There Are Good Times Coming, the third single from her forthcoming debut album. Fresh from their appearance at Tilt last week Naked Lungs ask Why Do People Change?, Belfast’s finest Robocobra Quartet analysis singer Chris Ryan’s sleep pattern on Wellness, while Irish-fronted Essex outfit She’s In Parties confront the male gaze on Angelic.

In terms of singer songwriters there are some big hitters in the mix James Vincent McMorrow announced not one but two albums are on the horizon previewing the first with The Less I know, Rosie Carney continues to impress with Break The Ground the second single to be drawn from her upcoming LP ‘I Wanna Feel Happy’ – if you haven’t listened to her Radiohead covers album yet, we highly recommend it.

In terms of hip hop Swedish rapper Skull The Pierre hooks up with Callum Wall and Waterford’s Fortune Igiebor for All My Love – a celebration of modern sexuality which confronts the homophobic side of hip hop with an old school jam, while JyellowL continues to mine his shades of yellow project, exploring how his Nigerian roots intertwine with his Irish upbringing.

In the pop world Slaney returns with dance-floor ready Let Me Go Boy, while Irish DJ Seamus D continues to rise with his remix of Clean Bandit’s Everything But You. Róisin O delivers radio ready ballad Better Now and Farah Elle returns after a 3 year lull with Play It By Ear.
