Rising Irish hip hop stars Curtisy & Sloucho have joined forces on new track ‘Gimme It’ the track arrives following their surprise performance at All Together Now.
“This collab with Sloucho was exactly what I needed, it feels so good to step into this world Sloucho has built and to find a way to fit into it,” says Curtisy of the track. “I was smiling the whole time we were creating and I’m still giddy every time I hear this track, if the reaction of the crowd at All Together Now is anything to go off then we might have ourselves a winner.”
The two artists were brought together by Jameson to create the track that made its live debut at this year’s All Together Now festival on the Jameson Connects: The Circle Stage.
“As the title “gimme it” suggests, the track is about the idea of wanting more. I wrote it during a period when I was pushing myself to make music every single day, no matter how I was feeling. I was chasing the dragon of past successes, but instead of fulfilment, I mostly felt burnt out and disheartened about music,” adds Sloucho.
“Everything shifted when Curtisy came on board. I realised what I (and, really, what everyone) is ultimately searching for: genuine human connection. The track came together over just a day or two, and in the process, the “more” I’d been chasing finally revealed itself: more happiness, more pride, more friends, and more music I can share with the world.”
