Irish Festival Awards: The Winners

Were just in the door from another years Irish Festival Awards. Big up to Cherry Cool promotion (the guys behind Castlepalooza) for organising it and once again excluding themselves in the interests of fairness.

The night was kicked off around 8pm by Sacred Animals who plays a beautiful two song set and then MC Emmet Kirwan set about getting plenty of giggles and guiding us through the eighteen awards. We had an interlude for a song from the violinist Daithí gave us a whopper demonstration of what’s possible with a fiddle and some ingenuity and after a flurry of more awards we had a closing set from Cast of Cheers around 9pm followed by the award-winning DJ TuKi.

Good fun had by all, plenty of free Bavaria was consumed and we even had people dressed up as the naboo from Avatar. which was highly entertaining. The winners on the night were as follows.
