Irish Music Rights Organisation, IMRO – Who have been at the centre of a licensing controversy the last few days have published an FAQ article with questions and answers  for common question.

There is nothing really new in this article for sure. Ive read it through and it basically goes to the trouble of answering questions that Nialler9 and other bloggers have published the answers to already. The web is littered with articles now on the topic that its gotten to the point of confusing.

From reading the article i get the distinct impression that nothing will change despite the meeting with niall and the lads. It certainly hints at the fact that those hosting actual files will require to have a license and anyone not hosting files (i.e. streaming music through services like Myspace/Bandcamp etc or embedding youtube videos) will be fine.

The minimum license is €75 for 30 second streams, €150 for full streaming and another €150 if you want to host music that people can download.
