The IMRO Live Music Venue of the year award is there to acknowledge the great efforts of top venues around Ireland who provide the platform for bands to dish out top quality entertainment every night of the year in Ireland.
There is an overall award for the top venue in the whole island but there will also be awards for best Dublin, Leinster (excluding Dublin), Connaught, Munster, Ulster. IMRO members have been nominating also their best music festival choice and one Irish music festival will get IMRO Music Festival of the Year award.
You in the public can vote too. just log onto www.surveymonkey.com/s/MTW7LVL before 25th November and cast a vote for your choice of top venue in the available categories. The poll votes will add to the IMRO member votes to decide the winner.One lucky voter will be chosen at random to receive a prize of an iPod Touch.
The IMRO Live Music Venue of the Year Awards 2010 will take place on Wednesday, December 1st at IMRO Headquarters in Dublin.
Personally being Dublin heads we think that the new venues in The Workmans Club and The Grand Social are really good candidates for this award though it remains to be seen if their relative new status will work against them.
