Imelda May has today announced what must be here biggest Irish gig to date. The rockabilly superstar is pretty much writing her own ticket these days in terms of popularity and I can’t say I’m surprised this venue is finally being reached.
Mayhem is now triple platinum selling and had led to a performance at The Grammys for a tribute to Les Paul with Jeff Beck, she sang for The Obamas in Dublin and the Milan fashion week, Glasto, The Marquee in Cork, Hyde Park, Lollapalooza, Conan, Jay Leno and so many more. Oh and multiple Jools Holland appearances too. If anyone embodies the ‘Is Feider Linn’ mentality it’s Imelda and her amazing rise to fame.
She is to play The O2, Dublin on Friday December 16th as an early Christmas present to fans. Tickets to the show will be €37 to €40 and go on sale Friday September 23rd at 9am.
Tickets will be available from Ticketmaster.ie and outlets nationwide.
