Icelandic dance legends GusGus are coming to Dublin next week for a show in The Button Factory.
Over the course of 25 years and 10 albums Reykjavík electronic collective GusGus have signed to cult labels such as 4AD, remixed the likes of Depeche Mode, Bjork and Moloko and collaborated with The Stone Roses’ Ian Brown.
During their existence the ranks of GusGus have swelled and contracted from 10 in 1995 to just 2 since 2016, with only founder members Daniel Ágúst Haraldsson and Birgir Þórarinsson remaining.
John Grant reignited international interest in GusGus when Birgir Þórarinsson worked on his hit album ‘Pale Green Ghosts’ (2013). Since then Gus Gus have released two album ‘Mexico’ and 2018’s ‘Lies Are More Flexible’ to which Grant lent his dulcet tones on Don’t Know How To Love.
These Icelandic legends of dance music who laid the foundations for acts such as Kiasmos to thrive are coming to Dublin next week for a show in The Button Factory on Tuesday 26th. This will be a night not to be missed for true connoisseurs of electronic music in all of its guises.
