HousePlants have previewed their upcoming studio performance film ‘Live at The Beekeepers’ with footage of ‘Sweets and Cursing’ a track which was originally released as part of their 2022 EP ‘Seaglass’.

Paul Noonan and Daithí are joined by their live band of Sinead White, Glenn Keating and drummer Alex Ridley for the 115 minute performance which was recorded live in Daithí’s County Clare Artist Retreat The Beekeepers. the band describe the film as a a heartfelt thank-you to fans who joined them during their recent tour celebrating the release of their second album, ‘Half Known Things’.

Paul Noonan says “At the risk of being a hot-air merchant(!!), I feel that there is a peculiar and singular alchemy to how we play as a band. Having made the first record in our respective bunkers, Daithí and I asked our friends Sinead, Glenn, and Alex to be in the live band with us, and I’m delighted that we have this beautiful photograph of where we’ve taken the songs.

Daithí adds: “Coming off a run of incredible shows celebrating Half Known Things, I’m thrilled to have a full, powerful recording that truly captures where HousePlants is right now. Performing with this band is something I deeply cherish, and having Allyn document it so vividly makes it even more special.”

“When the Houseplants guys asked me to capture them performing their tracks thus far in The Beekeepers, I knew it was a perfect opportunity to show people a side of the band that they maybe hadn’t seen before. My only request was that the tracks be performed in a straight run as close as possible to a live performance – to try capture that unique, electric, joyful energy that they bring to their gigs and create the feeling of being a fly on the wall, sitting back watching a characteristically laid back but well-oiled Houseplants rehearsal,” adds Filmmaker Allyn Quigley.

‘Live at the Beekeepers’ will be released on Youtube on February 7th. Sign up to the Houseplants mailing list to receive a priority high res download & stream of the performance on Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd February: https://www.houseplants.band/
