London based five-piece HMLTD have announced news of the upcoming release of their long-awaited debut album, ‘West of Eden’, due for release on 7th February 2020 via UK independent label Lucky Number.

Alongside today’s announcement, HMLTD share the video for brand new single and album opener ‘The West Is Dead’

“This is not dystopia, but a mirror up to late capitalism; where we are and where we’re headed. Sick dolphins lap at the tide, the insects have all dropped from the skies and the global economy enters free fall. Ecological catastrophe guaranteed. The West is dead. Atomised, alienated and apathetic” explains singer, Spychalski.

HMLTD have also announced a UK and European headline tour, this includes a headline show at The Sound House, Dublin 18th February 2020 (ticket details below). Their first appearance in Dublin since October 2017.

Tonight the band has the perfect balance between aesthetic, noise and art. HMLTD ringmaster Henry Spychalski dons outrageous high-waisted trousers and bright red hair – likewise, his bandmates are dressed to impress. He swirls around The Workman’s stage like an androgynous jester possessed by a poltergeist, narrowly avoiding his bandmates as he sashays across the stage with wild, unruly movements.
