Well this Sunday it’s not only my personal birthday but it’s also Goldenplec’s EIGHT birthday. Yes we have been running for eight entire years. There something scary and impressive about the fact were still around.
To give people an overview, Goldenplec started as “Irish Music Mania on August 1st 2002” and just over a year later we renamed as Goldenplec on October 8th 2003 and we have been running under this guise ever since.
We have had some very busy times, particularly in our pomp in 2004/2005 when the Goldenplec forum was a very busy and bustling place to post. To changes of software on the site to try improve or add features on the site to actually removing the forums last year. It’s been highs and lows, up’s and downs.
We are quite proud of what we have achieved over the years, from Charity gigs for Temple Street where bands like La Rocca, Autamata, Juno Falls, Electric 66, Fairuza, Jaded Sun all played, We had PlecAid to raise money for the Tsunami victims where The Delorentos, Me in the Park and Pilotlight (formerly polar) all played. We had small gigs involving bands like 21 Demands who did well in “Your a Star” and will be coming back with an album soon and Blue Syndrome who are great friends of the site all great Irish acts who played for Goldenplec during our time.
We have grown into our position as one of Ireland’s leading news and reviews website for Ireland, we hope that you all enjoy the content we produce every day and that you find it useful. We hope to continue this long into the future for as long as the public keep visiting.
