This week’s pick:

Magazine editor James Hendicott and presenter Darren Cleary enjoy a mutual love in (okay, it was mainly James) when talking about secretive Limerick act Bleeding Heart Pigeons and their fast-paced journey to Virgin Records.

These guys are breathtaking: like a young Radiohead developing their sound in a tucked-away basement, and it’s fair to saw we’re sucked in, to the point of worrying the next EP won’t live up to expectations (a legitimate worry, in a case like this?).

It’s been a hell of a week, so while you’d normally find a load of bonus tracks here that just missed the cut, we’re going to hold off this once and let you bask in Bleeding Heart Pigeon’s glory instead, whilst promising a bumper bounty next time out. Here’s James’ review, and you can throw the EP on below.

Next week, GoldenPlec writer Tara Joshi will step into James’ shoes while he suns himself by a pool in Spain. You can enjoy her notes next Monday (June 29) between 7 and 8pm.
