Yes the latest news in is that Goldenplec.com has made the final 5 blogs in the Best Music Blog Category of the Irish Blog Awards 2010.
Its an honor to be in the final 5 of these awards. We made the finalists of the Irish Web Awards and now have been double blessed with a finalists position in the Bloggies.
Our other top brass candidates for the Best Music Blog are Nialler9 (of course, it wouldnt be a music award category with him), Faith No More 2.0, Torture Garden, Swear I’m not Paul and of course ourselves making up the 5th position.

I wont be in Galway personally but my fellow Admin Kev should be making the trek down to represent the site in the unlikely event of winning (to be fair, Nialler has been the benchmark for a long time, i fully expect that to be the case again. Nothing but respect for him and the tight blog he runs) But should hell freeze over and pigs start flying, we’ll be there to pick it up.
Best of luck to everyone else who was nominated in the different categories, especially our friends at Culch.ie who are nominated in the Pop Culture Category, i think they are very strong candidates for the awards and also to my good friend David Maybury who is nominated in the Arts and Culture Category, a worthy winner he would make too.
