Glee’s own Matthew Morrison (A.K.A. Will Schuester) is coming to Ireland to play his first ever Irish show with the announcement of a UK and Ireland tour. The chirpy glee club leader has been nominated for Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe awards and is stepping out from behind the shows moniker to go on tour.

His debut single ‘Summer Rain’ which was co-written with Claude Kelly who has worked with Bruno Mars, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and his self titled debut album (which featured duets with Elton John and Gwyneth Paltrow) will be released in Ireland on May 6th 2011.

He will be kicking off this UK and Ireland tour here in Dublin when he plays The O2, Dublin (which I hope isn’t too big a venue for a first Irish show) and will be playing there on June 6th 2011. He will then move on to Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Brighton before finishing on June 13th in Londons Hammersmith Apollo.

Tickets for the show are €49.20 – €59.80 for this fully seated performance and they go on sale on Friday 8th April at 9am. Tickets available from Ticketmaster.ie and usual outlets.
