Whelans have a fantastic lineup for their Summer Sounds festival this weekend. So as seen as it falls under the festival banner it happens to be this weeks Gig of the Week. Kicking proceedings off Cashier No 9 are dropping in for a free gig on Thursday. The Riptide Movement play on Friday tickets €11, Saturday sees Cathy Davey on Whelans main stage tickets €16, while The Hot Sprockets and The Raglans will be over in The Village, tickets €10. Finally Little Green Cars will wrap things up on Sunday, tickets are only €8.
Body & Soul 2012 is down in Ballinlough Castle this weekend. Electric Picnic’s offshoot festival is back with a bang this year featuring a stellar lineup including m83, Villagers, St Vincent and Django Django, to name but a few. Expect all the usual sorts of fun in the different realms too.

Westlife are playing Croke Park twice this weekend, Friday and Saturday night, winding down their impressive 14 year career with their last ever concert. Support comes from The Wanted and Jedward. Some production seats are still available and will set you back a steep €89.50.
