Gig of the Week is looking towards Bundoran, Co Donegal this weekend for the fifth installament of Sea Sessions. With the likes of Happy Mondays, Kaiser Chiefs, The Coronas, Rev Run, Beardyman, We Cut Corners and Delorentos topping the bill, there’s something for everyone at Sea Sessions. It’s no wonder the surf & music festival is being honoured with a visit from President Michael D. Higgins on Saturday. A new addition to the festival this year is the surfers village, as well as looking over the surf competitions, there will be a mix of BMX/Trial bike displays, surf artists/retailers, kids workshops and music to keep punters occupied. Weekend tickets for Sea Sessions 2012 are just €88.50 and day tickets are €50. You can get them here. Make sure to watch out for “one last sneaky announcement” today at noon.
Tonight Red Hot Chilli Peppers are taking on Croke Park, with support from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and The Vaccines, it’s set to be one hell of a show. Tickets are still available and start from €49.50. If you’re a bit more traditional head over to Dun Laoghaire and catch Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill playing Pavilion Theatre, tickets are €22/20.
