North London multi-instrumentalist/producer Georgia Barnes aka Georgia will play an upgraded show in The Academy Green Room early next month having been upgraded not once, but twice, moving from The Sound House to The Workman’s before finding a new home in The Academy’s Green Room.

Her second album ‘Seeking Thrills’ arrived in January 2020, some five years after her eponymous debut effort ‘Georgia’. The Brit School graduate and daughter of Leftfield keyboardist Neil Barnes used the interim period to hone her songwriting skills considerably.

‘Seeking Thrills’ drips with carefree, radio-ready choruses such as the indie-electro bop Never Let You Go and has the feel of an ‘80s ‘Now That’s What I Call Music’ album due to the multi-genre soundscapes and sense of nostalgia generated by dancefloor-ready tracks such as the Chicago-House infused Started Out and the Robyn-esque About Work The Dancefloor.

With a bright career ahead of her this may be your last chance to see Georgia play in such a small venue, judging by her surge in popularity.

Georgia at The Academy Green Room, Dublin Saturday March 7, 2020. Tickets €13.50
