Some excellent gigs happening this week, our highlight being Gomez’s return to these shores on Thursday night. The former Mercury Prize winning act are back with sixth studio album called ‘A New Tide’ and have also had the honour this year of their song Little pieces featuring in Greys Anatomy. Other famous Gomezs’ includes German Footballer Mario Gomez, Juan Vicente Gómez, ruler of Venezuela in 1908–35 and Gomez Addams, the cigar-smoking, eccentric millionaire of the Addams family. Don’t say that Goldenplec isn’t educational. Gomez are playing The Academy this Thursday 30th April.
