For this week’s Gig of the Week you might need to trade your granny for a ticket. Two Door Cinema Club will be showcasing their latest release Beacon on Friday night in The Academy. Tickets sold out in about three minutes for this snug evening with one of the hottest bands to come out of Northern Ireland in recent times.
Support comes from The Cast of Cheers, who will also be taking to the decks after the performance for a DJ set. If you missed out on tickets, don’t worry, because the trio have just announced they will be playing The O2 on January 19th. Goldenplec recently caught up with TDCC for a chat about the new album.
There’s plenty of other gigs happening on Friday night. Heartfelt crooner Norah Jones is playing The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, tickets are available from Ticketmaster and range from €49.65-€54.65 . Meanwhile Sunderland’s finest The Futureheads will be over at Whelans, tickets are €15. Roska is in The Twisted Pepper, tickets €13.95.
The View finish off the weekend and their tour of Ireland with a gig in Whelans on Sunday night, tickets €22.90.
