Gig of the Week : Seasick Steve

This week the obvious superstar gig that needs no extra promotion is Lady GaGa in The O2, We couldnt give that gig of the week. There is also the Meteor Awards but i firmly believe that any gig involving both The Script and Westlife is just that tad too girly to be a gig of the week. Neither need any extra promotion.

I would like to gig a special mention to the Haiti Benefit Show, but there are so many Haiti concerts going on, but as with all charity gig, happy to give a mention and hope they raise as much money as possible.

So this week we are choosing Seasick Steve as the gig of the week, and for a good reason, This man is a festival merchant, he’s hard to pindown in a solid venue. Vicar Street is a nice intimate enough venue for a gig of this acts size. The show is second to none, truly a master musician at work and i do really highly rate him as one of the best live act’s going at the moment.

At €28 – €34 its not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive, a fair price i would say.

Notable other mentions are Readers Wives, Band of Skulls and Yeasayer (both we gave ticket away to yesterday) and Hayseed Dixie in Tripod will no doubt be crazy fun.
