This week’s Gig of the Week was a toughie with loads of deadly gigs happening north and south of the border; minus Ms Minaj. This weeks title goes to Kasabian and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who will be joined on the night by The Cribs and Maverick Sabre on Thursday at Marlay Park. Although Kasabian’s latest album hasn’t set the world alight, you are always guaranteed one hell of a show. Tickets are €49.50, limited tickets available.
David Guetta takes to Marlay Park on Friday night, tickets €49.50. Van Morrison and Tom Jones are up on Saturday night along with their ever diversifying support line up which includes Don Baker, Sinead O’Connor and Cathy Davey, tickets are €49.50 and still available.
If you’re at a loose end this evening, get down to Whelans for their newest music night, with lots of, well, new music. Tonight’s line up includes Corner Boy, Ziggy the Rabbit, Uber Glitterati and Toy Soldiers. Tickets only €5, sure what else would you be doing on a Tuesday.
American rock duo The Black Keys are over in The O2 tomorrow night, tickets start from €39.05.
Thursday is super busy on the gig circuit, Santigold plays to a sold out Button Factory. If you’re up in Belfast on Thursday night make sure to head over to Custom House Square for the amazing Two Door Cinema Club, Noah and the Whale and GP favorites The Cast of Cheers. Tickets are £31.50.
Special shout out to Rubyworks on Sunday they are celebrating their tenth birthday with a show in The Olympia. The lineup includes Rodrigo y Gabriela, Ryan Sheridan, Wallis Bird and Josephine. This will be Rodrigo y Gabriela’s only appearance in Ireland in 2012. Tickets priced from €25.90.
