Well there’s a hell of a lot of sold out shows this week, The Olympia Theatre have a hat trick of them with Alabama Shakes on Wednesday, 2 Many DJs on Friday and Band of Horses on Saturday, the same night there isn’t a ticket left in Vicar Street for Bell X1‘s acoustic set.
Never fear, if you haven’t snapped up a ticket for any of those, GoldenPlec is here to give you a run down of the weeks other musical highlights.
Gig of the Week goes to New York singer songwriter Ingrid Michaelson. She has one of those voices you can’t help but fall for, mixed with enchanting lyrics, no wonder she managed to sell out Whelans earlier this year. Following the release of her latest album Human Again, she is on a whirlwind tour of Ireland and the UK. Although she’ll be in The Academy on Wednesday, the tip of the hat goes to The Pavilion in Cork on Thursday, (a more intimate venue and a few euros off the ticket swung the vote). Tickets are still available and are €17.50.
Everyones favorite ‘Saint & Sinner’, Paddy Casey is in The Olympia Theatre on Thursday evening. Tickets still available and range from €23 – 30. 1980s Heavy Metallers Anthrax play The Academy on Friday night. Tickets are still available and are €25. Belfast punk rockers Stiff Little Fingers are up in Belfast in Ulster Hall on Friday and popping down to the capital on Saturday night for a gig in The Academy. Tickets are still available and are €22.50 for Belfast and €25 for Dublin.
