This week we decided to pick something a bit different, not many of you may have heard of but is an artist looking to breakout with his third album “Myna Birds” which on first listen seems to have twangs of country about it. We should be reviewing the album this week once we get a chance.

Just Like Rome” is the first song to be taken from that album which includes a B-side on it which is a version of The Faces classic “Ooh La La” which got picked for a recent meteor advert. We reckon this gig is worth a visit, its in Whelans which always gets a thumbs up from us. If your ever going to get a real feeling for a band its in an intimate venue.

Also on this week we see 21 demands are playing The Cake Cafe, Enter the Haggis drop into Whelans, Brendan Perry visits Tripod, Marina and the Diamonds will also be in Tripod, The Dublin Soul festival will be all over Dublin from Thursday to Sunday (This is FREE check it out), Sleep Thieves and friends are upstairs in Whelans, Chic will be in Tripod, The Rags pop into Whelans, Billy Ocean, Teenage Fanclub, Crowded House and Powderfinger play their last ever Irish show.
