Our gig of the week sees the return of Forbidden Fruit this weekend down at Royal Hospital Kilmainham. The non camping festival proved to be so popular last time round that they’ve gone and added another day ensuring your bank holiday weekend is jam packed. Saturday kicks off the festival with the likes of Leftfield, Friendly Fires, Bloody Beetroots, Holy Fuck, Republic of Loose and Le Galaxie. Sunday is a day for bands seeing New Order, Death Cab For Cutie, Death in Vegas, The Rapture, Cast of Cheers, Rarely Seen Above Ground, Little Green Cars,Daithi and We Cut Corners. Winding things down on Monday we have Wilco, James Vincent McMorrow, Beirut, Chromatics, Field Music, Chairlift and Windings. Westlife begin a four night run of their farewell tour in The Oyssey Arena in Belfast tonight. Tickets €46.50.
Machine Head play The Olympia Theatre tomorrow night (May 30th). Tickets €25.90 – €29.90.
Strawberry Fest down in Wexford also takes place this weekend with performances from Status Quo, Bressie, The Minutes, BiPolar Empire, The Saw Doctors and Marcus Collins. Tickets range from €15 – €195.
