Team GP love a good auld free gig, add some deadly Irish bands to that and you have an obvious Gig of the Week. Those kindly folks over at entertainment.ie have gotten together with The Mercantile to put on a new monthly gig – E.LIVE. The first one kicks off this Thursday featuring Heritage Centre, Cfit, Juliet’s Rescue and Modesto. The gig is completely free but you will have to book your tickets here.
Wednesday will see Marina and the Diamonds play to a sold out Olympia. Not to worry if you didn’t get tickets as the Welsh lass will make a return to the same venue on November 20th, and tickets are still available. Punk rockers Bowling for Soup play The Academy on Thursday. It is a 14+ show so no alcohol will be served. Tickets are €25 and still available.
There’s plenty going on in the Becks Rhythm Weekender which starts on Thursday. The lineup looks great, with gigs from Hot 8 Brass Band, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Derrick May and more. Oh and we have a weekend pass to give away [here].
It’s a busy weekend at The O2 with Jennifer Lopez on Friday night, tickets range from €54.65-126 (ouch) and are still available. Jack Black and Kyle Gass aka Tenacious D play Saturday, tickets range from €40-45 and are still available. The Kinks lead singer-songwriter Ray Davies is set to finish the weekend off in style on Sunday night, tickets range from €49.65-64.95 and are still available.
