This weeks gig of the month (Apologies for the massive gap, holidays for others longer than some) comes out of Crawdaddy, unfortunately its tonight so those reading wont have much time to catch a ticket last minute but hopefully there are some still available.
Devotchka are 4 Piece multi-instrumental, Punk/Folk/Indie Band (i know, way to tie them down to a genre, but this is how they are spoken of) and in recent times have been getting a lot of radio play and gather a nice fan base. One of their Tunes is used in a sky advertisement too, a song called “How It Ends” once you hear the intro you’ll know the ad im talking about. The quartet is made up of Nick Urata, who sings and plays theremin, guitar, bouzouki, piano, and trumpet; Tom Hagerman, who plays violin, accordion, and piano; Jeanie Schroder, who sings and plays sousaphone and double bass; and Shawn King, who plays percussion and trumpet.
I dont think they could really play more instruments if you ask me, its entirely ambitious music with so many options due to their talent that the style of music and sound can change from song to song with the option they have available to them allowing them to try different things all the time.

Another gig of note is a charity gig for fringe art with a band of friends of mine, Jukebox Annie, and Love Bullets whom have been pushed by phantom FM recently. So that also could be a cracker.
