Gavin James at The Academy | Gig of the Week

Dublin’s finest rapscallion Gavin James is one of those lads that you can’t help but love. He’s had an incredible year so far between selling out Whelan’s twice, supporting Kodaline on their UK tour and winning Choice Song of the Year. So it seems only right that his biggest headliner to date is our Gig of the Week. Get down to The Academy on Saturday night and ‘Say Hello’ (sorry for that one). ASIWYFA play two nights in Whelan’s on Wednesday and Thursday. They’re celebrating the release of their hotly anticipated new album ‘All Hail Bright Futures’. Support on the night comes from Forrests and Charmers. Tickets are still available and are €14.50

The Big Reunion rolls in to town to The O2 on Thursday night. If you haven’t been watching the TV series, it means you’ll get to watch classic 90s’ and 00s’ pop acts such as Atomic Kitten, 5IVE (well four of them), B*Witched, Liberty X, 911, Honeyz and Blue revive their careers. Not the most credible night of music but it’s guaranteed to be entertaining. Tickets are still available and are start from €41.

Friday will make for a completely different experience down in The O2, the one and only Meat Loaf is bidding farewell to the dizzy heights of touring as he brings his Farewell Tour to Dublin. Tickets are still available and start at €58.70. Meanwhile Bressie will be fighting off throngs of young ones over in The Academy. Tickets are still available and start from €25. The lovely Orla Gartland is on support duty.
