So it’s the day we’ve all been waiting for. Garth Brooks has today announced his much awaited return to Irish soil. Aiken Promotions have once again renewed their love affair with the country star who last visited Ireland to play Croke Park for three nights in 1997. Brooks sold in excess of 120,000 tickets and sold out the tickets for the first two out in a matter of hours followed by the third date being announced and selling out in just four hours. The demand for Garth Brooks in 1997 was insatiable.

Fast forward to 2014 and Garth Brooks joined the media this morning at the scene of the crime, Croke Park. Friday 25th and 26th July 2014 are the dates. They are precursor shows to his world tour. This is the shows where Garth announces his comeback, to a crowd he says are just something special.

Garth Brooks said, “Before we go back on tour in the Fall of 2014, I want to challenge myself, the band, and crew. In ’97, we were lucky enough to play Croke Park, the stadium was under construction. 130,000+ of some of the greatest fans in the world. I was quoted then as saying ‘When this stadium is finished, I would love to come back and try to fill it again…this time to the brink.’…and we’re back to do just that.”
