Following the release of March’s ‘The Space Tape’ collaborative project in aid of MASI, Cork producer Gaptoof has gathered the best and brightest of Irish producers together once more to release ‘LEFTONSTREAM’, a charity compilation in aid of Jigsaw, the national centre for youth mental health.

The 21-track collection features the highlights of Gaptoof’s popular live-stream series ‘LEFTONSTREAM’, which gave producers the opportunity to pit their work against one another, with pre-ordained samples and drum patterns providing the basis for their creation. Featured on the tape are the likes of Rhoshi, Rory Sweeney, Kobina, Chaz and Brién.

“After the success of the first compilation tape (raising over a grand for MASI at the time) I felt the need to do something similar to finish the year out, particularly with the start of LEFTONSTREAM” Gaptoof explained of the thought-process behind the release, “The benefit is twofold, talented Irish producers and artists get some shine and we raise some funds for an amazing cause“.

Jigsaw made sense for me because as a young person in Ireland, particularly over pandemic times, you can really feel like you’re up against it. I think we have all suffered to some degree with our mental health over the last two years so it made sense for us to support an amazing charity that deals with young people directly”

I wanted to finish the year out as we started” he adds, “supporting an amazing cause that directly benefits us as young Irish creatives and just people in general.”
