Another Irish band drops a festive tune for us all to enjoy and this time we have one of Northern Ireland’s hottest prospects RAMS’ Pocket Radio.
They have done a very RAMS version of The Waitress’s classic Christmas tune ‘Christmas Wrapping‘ from 1981. This just happens to be one of my favourite Christmas songs and Christmas Wrapping is a permanent feature on my Christmas playlists.
It’s got a lovely blend of piano and synth which proves enough to put their stamp on this song. The beat and flow of the song chops and changes as Peter’s vocal take control and lead you through the festive two and a half-minute delight.
Is it better than the original? That may be something for you to decide, it certainly is not a straight cover as they really put their own stamp on the song and I always enjoy when a band puts the effort in and doesn’t just do a karaoke version. This is the furthest from it.
