We tried but we couldn’t resist the temptation of Forbidden Fruit, so we’re heading back to the charming surroundings of Royal Hospital Kilmainham this weekend for our Gig of the Week. Forbidden Fruit have gathered together some of our favourite acts to keep us busy this bank holiday weekend. The eclectic line up includes Kasabian, Primal Scream, Chic, Everything Everything, James Blake, Le Galaxie, Fight Like Apes, Neon Neon, Crystal Castles, Girls Names and Daughter, to name but a few. Tickets are still available, day tickets are €54.50 and a weekend pass will set you back €99.50.
Singer/Songwriter Samuel Beam or Iron & Wine as he is better known is playing The Olympia Theatre on Wednesday. Limited tickets are available and are €27.50. Canadian punks Cancer Bats will be in The Pavilion in Cork on Wednesday, The Academy 2 on Thursday and The Stiff Kitten in Belfast on Friday. Tickets are still available and start from €15.
The Coronas front man Danny O’Reilly is demonstrating his charitable nature this week with A Gig For Erin in Whelan’s on Wednesday with special guests including family members Mary Black & Roisin O. Tickets for this are completely sold out. On Friday night, he’ll be back fronting The Coronas at FM104’s Help A Dublin Child in The Olympia Theatre. Other acts playing on the night include The Stunning, Ryan Sheridan, The Original Rudeboys, Gavin James and This Club. Tickets are still available and are €35.
Chicago’s finest ensemble, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble kick off their European tour in Dolan’s Warehouse in Limerick on Thursday before two Dublin dates in The Sugar Club on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are still available and start from €17.35.
Following the release of his third album ‘ Hotel California’, Californian rapper and cousin to Travie McCoy, Tyga plays Vicar Street on Sunday. Tickets are €28 and still available.
