Lots of Charity Christmas singles flooding into the GoldenPlec inbox the last week.

This one stands out a bit as it links some stars of the Irish indie scene teaming up to create an original song in aid of homeless charity the Peter McVerry Trust.

It’s called The Christmas Hearts project and was started by BOUTS man Niall Jackson to raise money for the worthy charity. The track is called ‘Christmas Is In Your Heart’ and features multiple top acts from Ireland including Mary Kate from Fight Like Apes, Conor from Villagers, BOUTS, Land Lovers, So Cow and Spring Break.

The song can be bought on Bandcamp, iTunes and they have some physical CD’s of the track on sale too. The best part is 100% of the sales goes to the Peter McVerry Trust. There is also to be an official launch for the song on December 11th in Whelan’s (€10 admission) and a live airing of the track at the Young Hearts Run Free yule event which will be held in the co-op space in Dublin 8.

Featuring on the lineup are Dónal Lunny & Paddy Glackin, Jet Setter, The Jimmy Cake, Temper-Metanl MissElayneous, Tandem Felix, Slow Skies, The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Groom, Brigid Power Ryce, Withered Hand, Floor Staff, Young Hears DJs and special guests too.
