Make the most of the forecasted Indian summer by joining the fun at The Battle for the Lake, the kiteboarding and music festival on Achill Island this September. Over the course of the weekend audiences will be enthralled, entertained and captivated by the kitesurfing action, music, funfair, food village, to entertain all the family; young and old.

The festival will take place from September 25th – 27th on one of the best places in the world for kitesurfing – Keel Lake. During the day enjoy some amazing acrobatic feats from some of Ireland and the world’s best kitesurfers.

But if you fancy joining in the fun the event is open to amateurs too. By night the festival will feature a variety of bands and entertainment with camping close by. Gracing the stage at The Battle for the Lake this year including many home grown acts.

To celebrate their fifth year on Achill Island the Pure Magic team who also run Battle for the Bay in Clontarf, Co. Dublin will set Lough Keel alight to close this year’s festival. Pure Magic has teamed up with a team of pyrotechnic professionals to bring you a truly spectacular finale to the festival. To add an extra dose of magic, being added to the mix is superstar magician Shane Gillen. The magician will be at the festival mystifying and hypnotising all around him.

Entry for Friday and Saturday is FREE during the day for spectators. The show will be mighty and runs from 10am till 5pm on Saturday and 10am till 4pm on

Not only there will be some action on the water but during all the weekend, you can expect loads of entertainment from our crazy team: the Lake will really be on Fire!

Night time the island will come alive with the food and bands, drinks and funky games that will keep everyone from 7year olds to 77 years old smiling!

Time: 6pm-12:30am

Night time costs €25 per night or weekend tickets for only €40. Camping is in close proximity to the lake at only €6 per person/night.
