Festival Details

Taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend (technically most of it is in July!), the Beatyard is our homage to everything that’s good & great in the world of music, food, drink, tech, science, games, sports, arts, design and discussion.

Music will of course provide the backdrop to the overall event with international headliners including the don of funk George Clinton, NYC soul/jazzer Roy Ayers, reggae legend Lee Scratch Perry, ?Grammy Award winning ?Brooklyn funksters Snarky Puppy, Chicago soul star Charles Bradley and disco houser Tensnake. We’ve more to announce to this bill in the coming weeks too.

The awesome Sing-A-Long Social run by Aoife McElwain will be rounding up punters to stretch their vocal chords along to the Beach Boys “Pet Sounds” album, in full site of the sea.

The Eatyard, a homage to everything glorious in the world of food, will triple in size from previous years and feature up to 30 food & drink vendors, chefs, demos, classes, and food competitions including one of Dublin’s best sandwich joint 147 Deli, Asian street food kings Bread & Bones, guilty pleasure’s finest Dublin Doughnut Co and 3FE Coffee. Tippletown will return with specially themed drinks bars, cocktail and beer brewing competitions and classes, as well as featuring some of the best brewers, mixologists & bartenders from around the country.

A new area, Banteryard, will cover talks, panels, debates & discussions covering tech, science, health, fitness, politics, literature, gadgetry, and anything else of interest & fascination to us. We will also be adding a ‘sports & games day’ area, Gamesyard, for friends and family groups courtesy of the Back Page folks. Our Studioyard will hone in on design, art & science with the Bernard Shaw Flea migrating to the Beatyard site for the weekend, Sole Food Sneaker Fair, the Imaginosity Kids Science Museum, the Exploration Dome and drawing with the legendary Don Conroy
