From August 15th to 17th, the annual vibrant celebration of emerging and experimental music, Féile Na Gréine, will transform the streets of Limerick City into a dynamic festival showcase.

Over three days, audiences will flock to a variety of unique venues — from underground clubs and arts spaces to craft breweries and lively street parties — to experience a superb array of eclectic emerging music.

Most of the events are free to the public (there are a couple of modestly priced gigs) and you can find out more here. But to be ultra-helpful to you we’ve provided a breakdown of each day’s musical offerings below.

Friday

Launching the festival is a special performance of Amanda Feery’s NEST at the Redemptorist Church. A response to Éamon de Valera’s 1943 speech ‘On Language and the Irish Nation’, NEST is a meditation on the meaning of home, land, and belonging.

Saturday

Things kick off early at Limerick’s famous Milk Market, before one of the city’s favourite pubs Mother Macs plays host to a fantastic line-up including New Zealand dream-pop trio Womb. Emily Panter fresh from her debut EP headlines the action on Catherine St. and later that night experimental folk songwriter Joshua Burnside features on an intriguingly diverse bill.

Sunday

Headlining the grand finale on Sunday night in Pharmcia is Maria Somerville and her Connemara inspired shoegaze, also on the bill will be live techno from Zkellies, the new collaborative project from Andy Connolly (FKA Naive Ted), Dan Walsh, and Bill Karnation. Earlier in the day the Treaty Brewery is the perfect location for a chilled out Sunday, whilst The Commercial keeps the good vibes going with a line-up that includes Negro Impacto and Throwing Shapes.
