Féile Na Gréine is back, and is bigger than ever, featuring a stellar line-up of forty incredible music acts set to perform in a diverse array of venues all across Limerick city over the weekend of August 23rd-25th.
This truly community music festival has really blossomed since it began in 2018, showcasing the exceptional dedication and enthusiasm of the countless volunteers and friends who organise and run it annually. Their efforts infusing a vibrancy and creativity right in to the heart of the Treaty City.
This year’s festival proudly presents a stunning lineup of emerging and experimental music acts, with nearly all events free for those eager to experience the excitement that the festival brings, whether in intimate rooms or when it inevitably bursts out onto the streets of Limerick, over the course of what is guaranteed to be an inspiring weekend.
The lineup is a vibrant showcase of Ireland’s burgeoning music scene, featuring talent from all across the island. The Irish supergroup Princ€ss set the stage with a streamed show from the historic corn store on Roches Street (home to the Lumen Street Theatre). Belfast’s beloved Junk Drawer make another welcome return to Limerick, and the legendary mynameisjohn of Rusangano Family fame is just one of the myriad of DJs ready to light up the Treaty City Brewery.
There’s also romantic musical musings from Tandem Felix, classy indie-folk from Anna Mieke, stunning traditional harmonies from Landless, jazz-infused warblings from The Bonk, and so much more to enjoy and discover. You can find the entire lineup and more details of the festival on the Féile Na Gréine website, which very thoughtfully links to the Bandcamp pages of each of the performing acts.
Ahead of the main festival, this Friday, 26th July sees Pharmacia hosting a festival fundraiser with a stacked lineup which includes recently reformed local emo kings Casavettes, very exciting newcomers Theatre, skronkin goodness with Péist, and a hoppin’ finale with DOGWIN!, a perfect aperitif to August’s main event.
Féile Na Gréine is supported by the Arts Council Festival Investment scheme, as well as Limerick Arts through Limerick City and County Council.
