GoldenPlec are delighted to present the new video from Irish post rockers Megacone for their dazzling, epic seven-minute new single Absolute Magnitude.

What does Absolute Magnitude mean when it’s at home then? Well, look at the stars; see how they shine for you? The brightness of stars visible on earth depends on two things; their distance from earth and how much space-debris impedes the light’s path to earth. Now, imagine all of the stars are lined-up in a row, the same distance away from earth and their light has an unobstructed journey. The brightness of each star in this scenario is their absolute magnitude.

Science lesson over, let’s get back to the music. Absolute Magnitude, Megacone’s forthcoming single is out April 16th and represents a major step forward for the quintet both sonically and visually.

The video pits science against religion, utilising the stunning backdrop of the interior of a church set against modern lighting to create atmosphere, with drone cameras capturing the intricate fretwork of the band itself.

Megacone recently signed to Dimestore Recordings so expect to see some great things when the pair combine in the near future.
