There were some strange scenes around Pimlico in Dublin's inner city recently when new Irish act KARMS had people dancing in the streets around the Guinness Storehouse for the recording of the video for their debut single We Always Lose.

The Swords quartet are made up of brothers Colm and Stephen O’Loughlin with best friends Danny Farrelly and Jay Maleney and take their cues from the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab For Cutie and Catfish and The Bottlemen, with a wall of sound approach to production.

We Always Lose was recorded by acclaimed producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian), in a 5 day recording session in Attica Audio in Donegal.

Those sessions saw KARMS record 10 tracks which will form the basis for their debut album.

You can hear those songs when KARMS play Upstairs at Whelan's on Saturday May 13th with support from SYLK. Tickets €10.

KARMS debut single We Always Lose is available for download and streaming on April 21st.
