Waterford producer Evan Miles returns with his xx new single ‘What Would Anybody Do’, the first in a year which looks set to see Miles take his art global.

“I wanted to make a change and to try and break away from my previous sound a bit for this release” Miles explained of the track, “I had other tunes in the bank that I was working on but they just didn’t resonate with me. I was kinda thinking ‘the same sound again this year, how am I going to keep people interested, especially if I’m not that engaged with it myself’. If it doesn’t excite me then there’s no point in finishing it let alone putting it out, like I didn’t want to just phone it in”.

Opening with a simple piano melody, the song quickly builds to a roaring crescendo. Scattered, computerized vocals quickly enter the fray and move to underscore the simplicity and beauty that comes with acoustic accompaniment.

2022 saw Miles release a collection of four singles in ‘Worry About You’, ‘So Stuck’, ‘Presence’ and ‘Catamaran’, in collaboration with fellow Waterford producer Peter Vogelaar.

With a spot supporting Le Boom in Kilkenny’s The Set Theatre on 16th March, as well as shows in Dublin,London, and even further afield on the horizon, it’s looking set to be a year that will see Miles stretch his wings and set off fo even greater heights
