UPDATE: Overhead, The Albatross join lineup
Ensemble is a new music company run by musicians, for musicians.
The initiative is the brainchild of performers and event organisers Rob Kearns and Rob Farhat. The pair have gained extensive experience in event management over the last few years through working with the Trinity Orchestra, Web Summit and Riverdance.
Remember when the Trinity Orchestra went viral with their version of Daft Punk? These are the guys that made that happen.
Ensemble will manage artists, promote concerts, and further down the line, it will also release music as a record label. “The Robs” are aiming to refine a cluttered music industry by reducing the unnecessary amount of middlemen and ensuring that artists get a fair and deserved cut.
Ensemble will take risks with the acts they work with and opt to represent creative musicians that fall between genres. This approach has resulted in the new company working with some of Ireland’s most exciting up and coming artists such as Loah, Zaska and Alaramist.
Ensemble Music will launch with a mini festival in Smithfield’s Block B, Dublin, Saturday September 27th 2014 from 4pm to 11pm with an impressive roster.
The launch will be split in two parts, transitioning from classical, jazz, and experimental into rock, funk and electronic featuring some of the best of Irish music talent from many diverse sounds.
Artists confirmed are:
Part 1 – Ensemble Eriu, Téada Orchestra, ReDividEr, Kirkos Ensemble, & Butter
Part 2 – Overhead, The Albatross, Bantum, Alarmist, ZASKA, Loah, & Nova Collective
Plus more to be announced
As an added bonus the event is also BYOB and there will be food vendors onsite, with an after party to wrap up the evening.
Early bird tickets are €10 (plus booking fee) if bought before this Friday September 12th, thereafter they are €12.50 or €15 at the door.
