BIMM, The UK’s leading rock school is set to launch an initiative in conjunction with Dublin Institute of Technology to bring their successful vocational rock and roll course to Ireland.

The deal will create employment for over 90 full and part time staff and add 500 college places to be obtained for a four year BA (Hons) Degree in modern music taught by experience Irish music industry tutors giving the opportunity to study guitar, bass, drums, vocals, song writing and music business studies from a new state of the art purpose built facility in Dublin city centre.

Some of the Irish music industry figures who will be offering tutorials at BIMM Dublin will include Cathy Davey, Ollie Cole, Steve Wall, Graham Hopkins, Colm Quearney, Dave Hingerty and Dan O’Connor.

The course in modern music will teach students the tools to gain a career in a range of roles within the music industry both here and abroad, including artist management, live music production, performance and publishing.

BIMM Dublin’s course begins in September 2011 and is facilitated via the CAO Points System. Students can apply at www.bimm.ie where they will be assessed by one of BIMM Dublin tutors and then apply via the CAO system.
