Following a successful festival season which saw them drawing big crowds at Electric Picnic, All Together Now and Beyond The Pale, hotly tipped folk act Madra Salach have delivered their much anticipated debut single”Blue & Gold”.
The Dubliner’s have been announced to play trendy UK showcase festival The Great Escape, Left of the Dial, Live At Leeds alongside a prestigious One’s To Watch slot at The George in Shadwell, London on 14 October.
Madra Salach will appear as special guests for Brògeal at their upcoming Irish headline show in The Academy, Dublin on October 30th 2025.
Debut single “Blue & Gold” sees the sextet enjoying the warm respite of a scratch card winning daydream, showcasing their musical chops and storytelling ability in one foul swoop..
“In the absence of any lucrative career path or generational wealth, I started habitually buying scratch cards in the hope of running into a small fortune in my early twenties,” singer Paul Banks explains. “I usually opted for a €2 All Cash, a small ticket coloured blue and gold. My ‘get rich quick’ scheme proved unfruitful, but I did get a song out of it.”
‘Blue & Gold’ should appeal to fans of John Francis Flynn, Ye Vagabonds and Old Sea Legs and will be followed by a mix of original material and a curated collection of folk standards.
