Octopussy presents SAVE THE RAVE @ The Academy, Thursday 4th November
Okay, okay. I can completely admit my hypocrisy last week. I built up everyone’s expectations for a quality night of electro madness, only to be ultimately disappointed myself. If anything this merely shows that we at Goldenplec are in fact still human, but we still offer the latest feature of the Dublin Clubbing Guide as a peace-offering of sorts. Those who felt aggrieved with last week’s feature after attending, this week should lift your spirits and make you realize that the fun is still out there and you can still embrace it.
For the last few months I have occasionally moaned about the deteriorating interest in dance/electro music in Dublin and always thought it fell on deaf ears. More to the point, it was only ever a lighthearted jab at a genre which still has many nights and promoters to its name. Nothing prepared me for any colossal statement being made in favor of the Raver like the one being thrown down this Thursday in The Academy.
Octopussy presents the aptly titled Save the Rave, and my-oh-my do they have an extravaganza in store for us!
Resident DJs will be tearing up the decks all night while everything around will be as flourescent as Doc Browns Uranium. With tons of glow sticks and a face painter on hand, the laser show will no doubt be the gun powder in this explosive night. And if you get bored, why not have a go on the Bouncy Castle? Or have a fake swim in the ball pool?? Who needs a fake swim when you can have a dip in a real 18ft Pool! After doing a few lengths relax those raving muscles in the hot tub, limber up for round 2 and mix it up with some giant twister and limbo!
By the end of the night, you will no doubt be so delirious from all the fun you may feel the urge to persuade the nearest glowing guy/girl to take a walk down the aisle on Octopussys very own Elvis White Chapel!
They literally have more fun than you can handle, but I guarantee you will get your fill and then some this Thursday. Remember that besides all the activities there is still the awesome rave, so head to The Academy this Thursday for a Rave like no other, brother!
