Dowry aka Éna Brennan is set to play her debut Dublin headline show in the Pepper Canister Church next month. Brennan can often be found playing violin with the likes of Paddy Hanna and Bell X1 and has become one of Ireland’s most successful session musicians in recent years but has also built up a reputation for her own striking live performances.

Her upcoming date in the Pepper Canister Church will feature the Dulciana Vocal Ensemble + special guests and is sure to be one of the highlights of the October gig calender in the capital.

“This will be my first ever headline show in Dublin, a terrifying and exhilarating notion, and a great excuse to do something a little different… and I’ve asked a bunch of musicians/singers who are very dear to me to be a part of it.” explains Brennan.

“The night will comprise of a curated programme of music with a 15min interval, featuring vocal ensemble Dulciana and a special guest. I have sung with Dulciana since 2015 and value every Monday I get to rehearse with them. On the 17th we will sing some of our favourite repertoire, pieces I have written for the choir over the years and premiere the fifth and most recent work of my Rupture series (previous works performed by Tonnta Vocal Ensemble and soprano Elizabeth HIllard).

“Choral music has always been a vital part of my musical life and I can’t wait to pair it with the world of Dowry, and what a magical setting to do so. See you in the Pepper Canister Church on October 17th.”

GoldenPlec selected Dowry as a Plec Picks act for 2019. Read our special feature on her here.
