Dave Robinson’s incredible life in music will come alive on stage when he presents The Stiff Records Story to Liberty Hall Theatre later this month.

Originally a photographer in Dublin, Dave Robinson took pictures of The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones first tour of Ireland. He briefly managed Van Morrison, and toured with Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Animals, Vanilla Fudge and more besides.

He partied and clubbed with The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Who, Jim Morrison and The Doors. He then returned to London and started managing actssuch as Ian Dury and Elvis Costello. Robinson single-handedly created a network of 35 pubs in London setting the scene for the development of punk. Dave started Stiff Records with Jake Riviera, signing The Damned, Motorhead, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, Kirsty McColl, The Pogues, Madness and many more.

Robinson was later installed as president of Island Records, where he oversaw the careers of U2 & Frankie Goes to Hollywood. He personally compiled and marketed Bob Marley’s 44 million selling LEGEND album. The biggest selling reggae album of all time.
