Ireland’s own Damien Rice who has been rather suspiciously quiet of late is to be part of an (?hk-to?ong B?y-Bi) covers album to benefit Concern’s emergency famine work in East Africa.

The album features massive names in music like Nine Inch Nails, Patti Smith, Depeche Mode, Jack White, The Killers and of course our own Damien Rice as 12 artists reinterpreted the songs in their unique manner for charity.

It is available to download worldwide from iTunes from today and will be available on the UK iTunes on November 28th. The album idea was conceived for Q Magazine to mark their 25th anniversary issue and also happens to coinciede with the 20th anniversary re-release of Achtung Baby.

If you would like to read up on where this money is going and maybe support the charity you can see more information here about the East Africa urban food crisis
