Cruel Sister aka Faith Nico is back with ‘Hands’ the first glimpse of her upcoming second EP ‘Turgid’, due September 29th. ‘Hands’ is reminiscent of Smashing Pumpkins early grunge riffs. The new single was written and produced by Faith and mixed by Theo Verney. The track comes accompanied by a black and white music video directed by Miles Davis Murphy

“Hands is about dealing with intrusive thoughts and trying to not let the world see into your own dark thoughts,” explains Faith. “It’s about being paranoid that everyone will find out the bad stuff and so you make a version of yourself that is ‘good.’”

‘Hands’ arrives alongside the announcement of a headline show in Dublin’s iconic Grand Social slotted for November 3rd. The headline slot will follow a performance at Ireland’s prestigious Irish Music Week the month before in October.

The black and white video for ‘Hands’ opens with the sign language for ‘Cruel Sister’ before alternating between scenes of the band performing and Cruel Sister performing under a swinging spotlight.

Of the upcoming EP Faith Nico explains “Turgid is me exploring my own brain in a more frank way, allowing myself to let the less desirable parts of myself come through and accepting they exist”. As a collection of songs it’s exposing in all the right ways – and ultimately a right of passage for a new, young and incredibly talented writer and musician that is set to shake things up this year.”
